Esther Bryan posthumously inducted into Cornwall Area Arts Hall of Fame
As the New Year begins, here are a few things we need to bring to your attention.
In late 2023, Esther Bryan was posthumously inducted into the Cornwall Area Arts Hall of Fame for her role as the visionary force and the architect of the Quilt of Belonging, as well as her experience as a musician, designer, painter and fabric artist.
We feel privileged to have a wealth of learning and treasured memories of Esther.
Our board of directors are truly dedicated to the Quilt of Belonging.
As it is now our sole responsibility to look after all of the business of the Quilt we had to make a few changes. The ‘store’ was removed from the website, however, if you wish to purchase a book, cards, make a donation, or if you have any other enquiries please go to our contact page for information on how to reach us.
We will do our very best to help you.
I am so proud of her. It is unfortunate that she was not able to be there.
What a honor for Esther and I feel blessed to have had her visit my home for my block. Esther is forever in my heart.
This is a gorgeous, outstanding piece of art. I have had the opportunity to see it a on a couple of occasions . I have also promoted it to family members and friends. All were overwhelmed by this piece of art.
I highly recommend everyone to go see it when in their area.
Frequently I have remembered meeting Esther & being a small part of the volunteers packing her collaborative, magnificent quilt during the Parliament of World Religions, 2018 in Toronto.
Today, re-reading the beautiful book, Quilt Belonging, I googled Esther’s name to read the sad news of her passing in July/22. Her soulful creativity has touched thousands.
It was a gift to have met her.
Please let me know how I can make a contribution in remembrance of this remarkable woman.
With care, Germaine Kovary
Thank you for your kind works, Germaine. She was a remarkable woman and will be remembered with fondness by many.
You can make a contribution in her memory on the website. Select the red ‘Donate Now’ button on the top right of the screen and be sure to include a memoriam message in the notes box.
