Quilt in Amazing Condition
Esther Bryan
This fall, the Quilt has come home for a rest and a thorough check. In October volunteers examined every inch of the 120 foot long work of textile art, every piece of fabric, thread, wool and needlework. To our delight we found that, after 26 exhibitions, the Quilt was in remarkably good condition. A few loose threads to repair, several tacks to make, and a careful cleaning were all that were needed to restore it to pristine condition. A few more months of rest for the fabrics and the Quilt will be ready to roll again.
Many thanks to our volunteers who undertook this painstaking work and to Marport C-Tech who provided the facilities for the undertaking.
