Roses for the ladies, a delectable high tea, visiting dignitaries, friends and families provided the perfect recipe for a wonderful opening day at the Quilt of Belonging Exhibition at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
As this occasion marked the 10th Anniversary of the beginning of the Quilt of Belonging, special features were added to the exhibit. In Salon A, information, pictures and memorabilia portrayed the journey the Quilt has been on so far.
The Quilt itself looked exceptionally beautiful housed in Salon B with lots of natural light and plenty of room for the artist talks held during the week. Our visitors said they were truly inspired by the stories shared with them by Esther and our volunteers.
In Salon C , “ Memories of Belonging , an Art Exhibition” by children of the cool art by cool youth art program was presented by the Cornwall and District Immigration Services Agency. What a fantastic contribution by the children!
Quilt of Belonging continues to be embraced and admired by people from all walks of life.
